Review: Benefit and Too Faced

Hi Dears,
I just love those two brands I knew about but never faced buying them in stores.
Don't know why, cause it's pretty awesome .

So, beginning with Benefit...
I knew the brand, the packaging, but never tried the Brow Bar.
Which is I reckon, a cool name.
I always , had my brows waxed in a French institute and... Well They have seen better days ! Haha. Always something wrong, even when I explained I liked them big and large. There was always the idontwantitsothin result. Erf.
And, then was the day I discover Benefit !

I wanted to use my gift card in Sephora, so I browse cool things there (including what I m about to show you) and took an appointment.

Don't be scared, but this one of my brow Before, being BenefitTED ;)

And then after , that was quick ;)

Now, I'll post a better picture but you can see the shades I put on are on a nice pinky powder touch, I love it.

So, here comes TOO FACED.

I adore the funny sexy names of the shades by the way, especially Voulez Vous, haha French will always be seen as the Romantic language. You should hear, some French speak now, it would ruin your fantasy !

And some nice details, to put the shades on.

In two words, Benefit and Too Faced, are the new cosmetics brands I tried recently and approved. My brows totally agree with btw, for the Brow Bar, you can find in your nearest Benefit store and for this discovery also:

The Gimme Brow! A volumatising gel which creates structure, when you have some tiny non haired space in your brows ;)
It's the good "entre deux" when you don't want to cover them in make up and don't wanna go out all nude. I love the dotted style !

As I don't often wear my bang down, this is a simple pic to show you my 70s outfit of the other day. I had this Dallas hairstyle it was kind of funny.

First Kiehl's.

And you obviously guess it's not enough with the presies...
Cause I received a Kiehl's surprise box !

I really love the packing.

I tried for you, last day, the Color-dyed hair shampoo and Conditioner from Kielh's.
I always have my little shampoo rituals.

I do a cleansing shampoo, the one that will depend on what you want to treat (anti-dandruff ect)
+
Shampoo for the hair itself, as for me:
For Colored Hair or Damaged Hair
+
Cream or Oil, as a Conditioner

But I actually, really wanted to do "as the conditions of use" to compare !
I made twice the shampoo from the pack, and the first time it didn't quite washed a thing... But that's a good thing !
Why? Because a shampoo which creates foam straightly even when you have such dirty hair... It's odd.
Full of surfactant , I think it's the word for it in English, it's oftenly some shampoo from supermarket
brands which gives you this result.

Well, there wasn't foam for the first one, even I put a lot of it for my weight of hair, but the second was alright.
And then, conditioning !
It says we have to let pose for 2 mins, I thought it wasn't enough to work, but that's what I did. And I rinsed thouroughly.
Dried my roots, with the hair-dryer, which usually makes it really dry.
Yeah, I know dry, dry, dry. And I can't translate the joke I made in French it doesn't work !
Haha.
Then, half dried, I put the Avocado Magical Elixir Oil.
I was informed to put in on the roots directly and let it pose BEFORE doing the shampoo. BUT I d rather spread it on the lengths, which are more sensibilised.
And I let it dry on its own.

In the morning, my hair was at last dried !
And like super, SUPER soft.

Present introduction

Hi Dears,

I started last day, enounciating present without mentioning them in fact... A part from the divine and somptuous Girlfriend Coat from Tara Starlet.
I'm thinking of making a special outfit for a streetstyle post by the way !

Good reading and listening, a pink tweedy outfit so perfectly perfect, a little hottie for my cold hands
...

A traveller notebook for me and my Love,

My mother in law just knows me so well, as I've never told her I was fond of Lisbeth Dahl brand...
And here , I got a splendid umbrella!

My sister thought I could be a nail artist... Well, I failed.
And you know what? This is my left hand and I'm right-handed.
No consolation.

No words to describe my Wow.

I'm not usually really keen of all "modern" shoes.
But there are some flat or platform shoes, I can't help myself to wear.
Why?
Because being a hairstylist, well hurts feet !

Comfy Xmas ,

And tadam! The Girlfriend Coat by Tara Starlet, I was telling about ...
Told you so !
Sorry for the car behind.

Presies to be continued...
Wishing you all best wishes.
XOXO

Boxing Day, le lendemain de Noël.

Happy BoxingDay everyone...
This may be a bit cliché but I had to show some stunning presies I received !

I had two Amazing Christmas, With the ones I love and that s What matters most.
The first "à la francaise" and the next more british like. But the two were great, I was so delighted!

But first some hors doeuvres...

113 g de beurre (1/2 cup of butter)
390 g de farine (3 cup of flour)
Un oeuf/1egg
1 demi cuillérée à café de sel/Half tea spoon of salt
3/4 d'une cuillère à café de levure chimique/ nearly a spoon of baking powder
1/4 de cuillère à café de clou de girofle moulu/ I'd rather put some but not necessarily
100 g de sucre / 1/2 cup of sugar (we put brown not white sugar for the look)

Mix baking powder, spices, flour and salt
Transform butter in something slightly creamy, and apart from the rest mix it with sugar
Ajoutez l'oeuf/ Add the egg
Intégrez le mélange des aliments en poudre
Add the first mix
Mélangez tout/ mix it all well !
Spread the paste on special mold or cut it with a knife or something nicely shaped
Put in the oven, for like 9 minutes as I did
We put some honey to place the eyes and buttons, so it crystallizes a bit after with the decorations added.

Okay mince pies were only here to help concentration...

Yummy!

These are my homemade cosmonauts ... Hahaha we laughed when we had a look at them. Don't pretend they re cute.

But tadam!! It looked great on the table snowsleigh ;)

Fluffly winter coats #2

So do you remember MOUMOUTTE ?
Yes, you do.
Well Thats not exactly the same, but its kind of in the move that I get these days , and I really adore it.

You might have notice that the 60s are back. Well, for a 40s lover like me, its ashame but anyway i think  we could all get something new by mixing styles, even when they're vintage ! And that makes you "unique".

I bought a lovely coat that I wish I could show you -so that means hopefully a new streetstyle shooting soon-, and by buying it, I made a big mistake. I just realize my fiancée might have bought it for my Christmas present... Will find out in two days now !

The thing cool with this type of coat is that , you can wear the MOUMOUTTE on or not, and it still look wonderful. I really love the fact that there are round buttons to fix and you can't deny Victorienne looks so great here.
The make up was made by Dita Make Up, the clothes are from Her Name is Rita , and the photo by the fab Ewa Cieszkowska. Of course, I made the hair !
Details on Cherry Crown.

I love that the sixties coats could be in this material, whether simple like the white one or a bit tweedy.

The Tara Starlet ones are just simply magnificent. I might buy one , one day ... ;)

What do you think do you like it ?
xoxo,
Lorna

Fluffy coats for the season#1

(French translation underneath)

Winter definitely makes it coming up, and it's a common trend in fashion clothing store these days...

We want MOUMOUTTE!
Haha, for the non-speaking French it's a term for fluffy, faux-furred cloath( also 'toupet'but no worry I'm not speaking of this).
No , seriously guys. I love this trend.

I've been fond of it, starting from last December when I saw my Grandma on Skype and told my auntie  that I wanted the same fluffy hairy jumper!

I bought this pastel light blue in a vintage shop it's all made of Angora and is really nice to wear.

There'll be a following to this post of course... To explain MOUMOUTTE on coats ! ;)
This are the kind of jacket I love, a nice brooch on it and it's lo-ve-Ly .

First base

Hi dears,
Today I was in the mood of posting you some tutorial about make up.
Well, it's late in Paris but actually you're all spread around the world so anyway it'll be useful if you read this by night, thus you know what to do in the morning !

Step by step

First, I'll let you notice I am mad of Kiko Cosmetics which brand I talked to you earlier in posts. Some people say it's rubbish, but I actually wear it really softly, it's easy to use and not expensive at all. Even, make up artists, friends of mine, are fond of this brand so why not try if you want to !
I am not narrow-minded , and if you have other cosmetic brands to mention , don't hesitate !
Well let's go ;)

Concealer

(Hi, I've got a real tired face without m-u)

So basically you only tiptoe where you need to, with the concealer, you don't paint with it lol, it's with some slight touching that you do the best work! For my part I don't have any spots, so I'll only put it on the rings, and to give some light under my eyebrows.

(Then I'm a funny panda)

With the foundation, unify the skin , beginning on the cheeks to bond with the part you cover before. I'll tiptoe again, making some bigger moves to reach each part(forehead, over the ears, chin and neck!)
(Don't put too much, a little is just enough;)

I'll reckon I have to tell you, that you obviously use one tone lighter than your skin , which means in my opinion using some really pale color if you could wear it without having a ghost resemblance, of course.
This is mine:

(The sponge should be white, don't forget to change it it's not expensive if you're not in the clouds as I am...)
Powder puff everywhere with a sponge, drawing to the extremities(neck and borders even the eyebrows if you do them later!)

And blush out !

(Yes I have a strong arm...)

This is the kinda brush you should use, so much easier to apply when you know you shouldn't use this big puffy one you used to call your blush brush...
The shade depends in what impression you want to give, if I want something really soft and romantic I use more of pinky one.
But I usually rather use a darker peach one, so it's more intense and bring some "joy" in my pale skin !

(Always put some powder light base on the eyes before any make up !)
I prefer using some yellow brush (an estompe type we call it in France) so it differs with my "estompe" black brush, that I use for color shade and everything.

Then do what you want ! I do my usual , but this was the idea of the first base of your skin shade ;)
Hope it will help!
