Black and Bowie

Hello Dears,
And welcome to 2020 💫
I hope you all spent (or not) this new years eve the way you wanted it. I was invited by a lovely friend of mine, but actually was not able to make it through the transports on this day.
Why you'll ask ?
I don' know... I was all ready, I loved my make up, I even bought a bottle of wine (for someone who doesn't drink I went to seek for the one I like the most lol), I was on time and all ... But when I arrived at the station they changed the platform (to an unknown and unreachable one ?? why , why do you do that French rail service of my *** ___ hm sorry, lets continue)
and all the people were shouting and screaming (some of them maybe already in the mood of festivities..) and that just made me so anxious I couldn't breathe. First, they changed something , and I hate changes lol, and then the crowd ugh. I could have arrived later, took my time to search for the said platform, and went on another train. But it just made me feel so bad I had no other thing in mind that coming home.
But even then, I just felt so guilty... Not being able to go out like " a normal person " and sometimes I wish I could. I wouldn't lie, most of the times I'd rather stay home in my PJs. But not when I'm invited by people I like, I mean I really feel guilty afterwards.
Thanks to some people I finally cheered up a little, enjoyed a pizza and a cartoon before going to bed lol.
But I really wanna say that for those who could not understand me on this point, I think even if I'd described the problem in any sort of possible ways they won't understand because they are not able to feel the anxiety like I do. And hopefully for them ! I don't wish that to anyone.
But I need to start myself to accept that people will not understand me all the time.
And not waiting on them to be the way I would like them to be. Because they're not. And they will never be.

Alpine - Pin-up

Hello Dears,

As I've mentioned on Instagram this is one dress I received from Dresslily !
I like how they offer some retro inspired clothing , and a large range of sizes. I've paired it with a coat from Shein, a headband from Primark and a pair of Dr Martens boots. My earrings are from AliExpress.

I was so happy the sun was out that I didn't think I will get cold at all 🤒 And jackpot !
But anyway, I'm glad I took the pictures while there was some light ☀️
I don't know if I've mentioned but since I'm stuck in my suburbs during the huge strikes in France and I cannot go meet a decent photographer in Paris well ... I do all the shooting myself 😅
Hence the weird framing lol

Beauty in a wrap

Hello Dears!
Here is a quick little sneak peek of some presents I was very very lucky to receive this 25th of December.
I don't often show presents as I think it can be a bit uneasing for some people and I understand that. I have to say again that I am very lucky to know someone who could offer me these products, because this member of my family works in Guerlain.
So that will be it today ! Not a photoshoot with ten times my face but some still-life shoot ahah.

First of all, I received this great book (in french though) who relates a lot of different plants or essence that you can find in nature and how to use it in a cosmetic way. I love how the book looks like, I love a big thick book to add to my collection of books, I literally own them as decoration after I read them once I have to admit but I'm a total fan of their esthetic.
The illustration inside are wonderful, I like the sketchy 1920s kind of images like this, and each description is really well written I think.

Now, as for the Guerlain presies I'm so excited to show these lovely products.

Since 1829, Guerlain is a brand made in France with these famous bees details on their perfume. Famous for their fragrance, it's the first french brand to create Oriental scent (love this! even when people say you smell like an old woman...idk) Guerlain is also well known for their make up and packaging which stood out during les années folles with their red lipstick. In one word a perfect gift for me ! 💄

This is Kiss Kiss Matte, one of their last red lipstick. Here is the shade Spicy Burgundy, I love how intense the red is, the burgundy isn't too overwhelming but brings a very slight touch of cold in the redness... Perfect !

I added some Lancome lotion to show you, which I received too. It s too good not to talk about ! If you are as tired as me to apply some face cream because you need to moisturize but afterwards you instantly have an oily skin ... Then this is just ideal !
It helps to hydrate your skin without stuffing it with oil... The perfect balance !

The Terracota and Meteorites from Guerlain are both bronzer, blush and highlighter. Depends on how you want to use them; I personally like to contour with the Terracota (underneath) and to highlight some areas with the Meteorites (all the pearls collection shown both above and further underneath). Some are pink-ier than others , then i just use them as a blush.
Must say it smells sooo good !

Hope you liked this different kind of content !
And that you all celebrated (or not) this winter , the way you wanted to 💖

Love,
Lorna

My name's a war song, I sing you a new one

Hello Dears,

Here is a very quick look (all black for a change) in which I'm wearing a satin skirt from Humble campaign (I've checked but the website link does not work don't know why), gifted by the lovely Yaelle.
I had a dress (well I still have it somewhere lol) who was splendid, I can't remember I think it was from Vivienne of Holloway or something like that. And oh how I missed wearing satin... I feel like it's such a glamorous fabric ! But you know, I have been blaming myself for years now that my body changed that I couldn't wear something like that anymore.
And in fact, when I shot this outfit I really didn't care, I mean since this summer I've purchased another satin skirt (a nice antique pink one) and it changed my way of seeing myself in such material.

I'm not too much into yelling body positiy these days, not that I have anything against it. But I feel like it's a disguised new trend for norms. Like there is a way of "being fat" that is more accepted than another.
You need to have thin features on your face, a smaller waist, and larger hips , because do you know "curvy models" in the fashion industry (i'm not aiming influencers here because at least that's great that they spread this kind of message but anyway that wasn't my point) , do you know some who are more than a size 14-16 (and I'm being modest lol) and has a large neck , belly and I don't know thinner legs ? No. That wouldn't fit the norms.
Not that I claim being out the norms, like not entirely well, this complexed me. My belly ... was always something that I was obsessed with.

But you know what, I don't care if sometimes he comes to say hi.
