Vintage Lesson for the pretty Hair

Hello from 2014, everyone!
(French translation )

First new thing I could add to my résumé , is that I just turned into Pr. Lorna !
It was clearly not something easy to do.
I knew I was not the kind of person into all this teaching stuff, most of all being patient with the other, I almost manage everyday to be patient with myself, Hairstyling is all about it. But no, definitely being patient with someone else you know, it's rather more difficult than what we could imagine.
Because, you think that even what you can do is a bit tough, you never guess that it's hard enough to consider yourself gifted, with what you can do.
So, it turns out that it made me took a bit more confidence, something I could not let it pass.
And after all, it was a really great first experience.

I now, I used to but not as I do today, totally respect teachers ! It's also a gift in a way...

Not everyone can do it.
Being in front of everyone, standing alone, talking out loud (and enough loud so everybody can hear you!), answer to everybody but one at a time, and deal with the less motivated... Wow.

Wow.

So thanks to Ewa Cieszkowska the photographer of the end of the Atelier, Dita Make Up teaching the Makeup lesson, and the other pinup clothing saleswomen guests and all the students, everything was possible and I enjoyed this intense day.

Of course , you can stare at my little feet in my flats but I really wanted to be cool in shoes, I could be steady and standing all day long.

Soon, a streetstyle Blog post I was willing to show you :)

Love,
Lorna

Fluffly winter coats #2

So do you remember MOUMOUTTE ?
Yes, you do.
Well Thats not exactly the same, but its kind of in the move that I get these days , and I really adore it.

You might have notice that the 60s are back. Well, for a 40s lover like me, its ashame but anyway i think  we could all get something new by mixing styles, even when they're vintage ! And that makes you "unique".

I bought a lovely coat that I wish I could show you -so that means hopefully a new streetstyle shooting soon-, and by buying it, I made a big mistake. I just realize my fiancée might have bought it for my Christmas present... Will find out in two days now !

The thing cool with this type of coat is that , you can wear the MOUMOUTTE on or not, and it still look wonderful. I really love the fact that there are round buttons to fix and you can't deny Victorienne looks so great here.
The make up was made by Dita Make Up, the clothes are from Her Name is Rita , and the photo by the fab Ewa Cieszkowska. Of course, I made the hair !
Details on Cherry Crown.

I love that the sixties coats could be in this material, whether simple like the white one or a bit tweedy.

The Tara Starlet ones are just simply magnificent. I might buy one , one day ... ;)

What do you think do you like it ?
xoxo,
Lorna

Fluffy coats for the season#1

(French translation underneath)

Winter definitely makes it coming up, and it's a common trend in fashion clothing store these days...

We want MOUMOUTTE!
Haha, for the non-speaking French it's a term for fluffy, faux-furred cloath( also 'toupet'but no worry I'm not speaking of this).
No , seriously guys. I love this trend.

I've been fond of it, starting from last December when I saw my Grandma on Skype and told my auntie  that I wanted the same fluffy hairy jumper!

I bought this pastel light blue in a vintage shop it's all made of Angora and is really nice to wear.

There'll be a following to this post of course... To explain MOUMOUTTE on coats ! ;)
This are the kind of jacket I love, a nice brooch on it and it's lo-ve-Ly .

First base

Hi dears,
Today I was in the mood of posting you some tutorial about make up.
Well, it's late in Paris but actually you're all spread around the world so anyway it'll be useful if you read this by night, thus you know what to do in the morning !

Step by step

First, I'll let you notice I am mad of Kiko Cosmetics which brand I talked to you earlier in posts. Some people say it's rubbish, but I actually wear it really softly, it's easy to use and not expensive at all. Even, make up artists, friends of mine, are fond of this brand so why not try if you want to !
I am not narrow-minded , and if you have other cosmetic brands to mention , don't hesitate !
Well let's go ;)

Concealer

(Hi, I've got a real tired face without m-u)

So basically you only tiptoe where you need to, with the concealer, you don't paint with it lol, it's with some slight touching that you do the best work! For my part I don't have any spots, so I'll only put it on the rings, and to give some light under my eyebrows.

(Then I'm a funny panda)

With the foundation, unify the skin , beginning on the cheeks to bond with the part you cover before. I'll tiptoe again, making some bigger moves to reach each part(forehead, over the ears, chin and neck!)
(Don't put too much, a little is just enough;)

I'll reckon I have to tell you, that you obviously use one tone lighter than your skin , which means in my opinion using some really pale color if you could wear it without having a ghost resemblance, of course.
This is mine:

(The sponge should be white, don't forget to change it it's not expensive if you're not in the clouds as I am...)
Powder puff everywhere with a sponge, drawing to the extremities(neck and borders even the eyebrows if you do them later!)

And blush out !

(Yes I have a strong arm...)

This is the kinda brush you should use, so much easier to apply when you know you shouldn't use this big puffy one you used to call your blush brush...
The shade depends in what impression you want to give, if I want something really soft and romantic I use more of pinky one.
But I usually rather use a darker peach one, so it's more intense and bring some "joy" in my pale skin !

(Always put some powder light base on the eyes before any make up !)
I prefer using some yellow brush (an estompe type we call it in France) so it differs with my "estompe" black brush, that I use for color shade and everything.

Then do what you want ! I do my usual , but this was the idea of the first base of your skin shade ;)
Hope it will help!

Sir-cle.

Too Many interesting trends I want to talk about this winter , but let's face it I do like them so I dont care I'll post and re-post about it.
After curiousity tendancies, and scottish patterns, Forgot to mention something really Nice and Simple on the producted effect.
The Circle Skirt !
Okay I even do like the name. Well, in général I like when in fashion you have funny names, for something meant to be serious ... Pencil skirt, bat sleeves...
Anyway, I love them cause they're not mini and have this retro effect I love.

Further more, you can even make them by yourselves! I'm Pretty sûre There's sewing kit and everything available on Etsy. The main thing is to cut as large cloath  as to have a big pizza shape, and a Tiny Hole for your waist in the middle.
I wont try. I'm such a mess, sewing and all. But Thats Pretty much of it.

There's picture from Designers collection, I loved.
Dolce&Gabbana even in l'idée religions patterns I liked, but I do think that everyone Will agree on the fact that overcover the cloath is a good thing, if you cant really focus on the shape of the clothes ...
I dont care! I even think some of it are available in Topshop... Gorgeous looks are posted on Vogue. It, so sorry for the bad quality I posted to illustrate.

So Thats Pretty it. Circle skirts. Do you believe that Vinyl could be use in that glamourous way? Ill love it , its the best way to use this material, I reckon.
Here, a last photoshoot I make With my Harstyling Concept CHERRY CROWN for Sas Terpstra Photographer.
The model is Still Victorienne, stylist Gemma B. And Make up Artist Aurélie G.
Enjoy!

Convention, conventions

Convention, conventions...

All started when I first did the Tattoo Art Festival in Paris, With my team from the salon, where I used to work.
I just ADORE, the fact of working There. Doing Pinup Hairstyles, and Vintage Hairdo is a very passion for me but creating it on a Tattoo (or something else) convention is brilliant.
In fact, you are performing as you're on stage, and as I might have said earlier thinking its likely to something spectacular, relevant from shows, just makes me dream.
So I don't know when I'll be stopping to do some, but now I'm only enjoying myself ;)

On the WonderVintage Market in Paris (mid Sept.)

On the London Tattoo Convention 13'

I couldn't miss the pinky hair color of the artist Moni Marino !

Beautiful customer !
